    Well, I installed Xubuntu, and.....it works!!!!! I have no idea what I had done wrong before, but I installed it, and it works perfectly!! 1,000 thanks, and more! Now, please don't write this thread off quite yet, because I am afraid it will start acting up, but THANK YOU!!!

    Just to clarify, this link is what worked for me.
