    External Hard Drive Problems

    My external hard-drive takes a long time to mount and even after that it works quite slowly.
    I dual-boot Ubuntu Maverick with Windows XP.
    My hard drive works smoothly in XP

    What format is the drive?

    Hey..Sorry for the late reply...

    My Hardrive Is An

    Imation Apollo 250 gb
    it is connected through usb.
    i think it is formatted as FAT32...(IM NOT SURE)

    its become quite slow... Windows Xp doesnt pick it up anymore and neither does ubuntu...

    Is it because of hardware failure??
