hey guys im new to linux

anyways here it goes

i got myself a Sony yb 15 netbook and managed to install ubuntu netbook edition
but now the trackpad wouldnt respond and the keyboard keys are all wrongly mapped .. works fine with the function(fn) key but direct typing isnt working ...randon characters have got assigned to my layout


would be great if someone could help me find a fix
