System specs: Ubuntu 10.10, 2.6.35-23-generic, x86_64. Multihead, 1 monitor on onboard Radeon HD4290, 2 monitors on PCI-E Radeon HD5850.
Whenever Xinerama is enabled, many applications (amdcccle, vlc, VirtualBox) cause an immediate hard X crash. And by "hard", I mean all my gnome processes are still there, and I have an unkillable X process. Requires a reboot every time.
This appears to happen whether or not I disable RandR in the amdpcsdb. It happens with the standard restricted repository fglrx, the ubuntu-x/swat package (2:8.791-0ubuntu1~xup~maverick), and the Catalyst 10.12 package (driver version 8.8) straight from ATI.
I haven't yet managed to make the open source radeon driver enable both adapters, so I'm making do with three independent desktops for now.
