Asus N53jq, sound not working

Hey I'm getting the same error everyone else has gotten and I added the two lines suggested on Page 1 and 2 to the bottom of my alsa-base.conf
What should I do? My headphones work when my computer originally boots, but oddly enough the sound starts to accelerate more and more as time goes by.
I unchecked "hardware acceleration" for my flash player as well.
