thanks =], i had the wrong partition i still couldn't get the second solution to work tho, i think its because i had Ubuntu installed on a virtual drive?
any way the 1st solution worked for me tho after changing the partition, well it did for the tech dude at my uni at least. we spent like a hour fixing it "we" lol

i think we had trouble with:

sudo mkdir /media/win
sudo mount /dev/sda1 /media/win
sudo mount -o loop /media/win/ubuntu/disks/root.disk /mnt
sudo cp -p /media/windows/wubildr /media/windows/wubildr.save
sudo cp -p /media/windows/ubuntu/winboot/wubildr /media/windows


like the /windows/ didnt work but it did when you changed it to /win/


Thanks for the help tho and the quick replies! like we were totaly stuck until you suggested the partition thing it was looking like i'd lost all of my work

You are correct. It was my fault. I offered the commands to copy wubildr but forgot to change them to match the guide. The commands should be:

sudo cp -p /media/win/wubildr /media/win/wubildr.save
sudo cp -p /media/win/ubuntu/winboot/wubildr /media/win

They will be changed it the main post.

My apologies cleverbubbles123, there was a mistake in the thread. You are absolutely right that it should be

### BEGIN /etc/grub.d/10_lupin ###

and not as stated. I am changing this immediately and thanks for spotting it. I hope the solution works for you now.

I guess you meant /boot/grub/grub.cfg
