    Where's "places"?

I went ahead and took the plunge to 10.10 on my starling. I am about ready to blow it out because of the Unity interface. I've been reading help pages for two days now and still can't find where they put "places". I just wanted to ssh to my ISP, but I prefer using the GUI (I know, I should embrace the command line). The other thing I can't get figured out is how to add to the menu. I'd like my "Office" and "Accessories" menus added to the collection on the left side of the screen. My self-imposed break from reading help screens is over, so I'm back trying to sort this out. In the meantime, If you've got solutions, I'd love to hear about them.

The closest thing to the Places menu in Unity is the icon in the launcher that looks like a Folder. It should be third from the bottom by default.

As far as I know, there is no way to edit the menus in Unity yet. It's probably planned for 11.04
