Hi, Have you been able to connect to your Wifi network? Is network manager able to detect your wireless networks? Are you able to connect to your wireless networks and not being able to access any webpages? Are you able to ping any website? You may check these pages http://ubuntugeek.com/forum/index.php?topic=268.0 https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/intern...-wireless.html or for more details, check https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs

If you want to connect to wifi from a laptop u need the drivers generally same might be the case with desktop also. u c ubuntu doesnt give u propreitary drivers along with the OS
install wifi drivers needed for your pc/laptop.........

I cannot install driver (These package contains Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA wireless driverfor use with Broadcom's BCM4311-, BCM4312-, BCM4321-, andBCM4322-based hardware.) for wifi. But if i try it in ubuntu 10.10 cd directly using try ubuntu option, it works fine. get the following error for last few parts of the update installation in update manager. installArchives() failed: Extracting templates from packages: 9% Extracting templates from packages: 19% Extracting templates from packages: 28% Extracting templates from packages: 38% Extracting templates from packages: 47% Extracting templates from packages: 57% Extracting templates from packages: 66% Extracting templates from packages: 76% Extracting templates from packages: 85% Extracting templates from packages: 95% Extracting templates from packages: 100% Preconfiguring packages ...
