Hello. I don't have enough free space in my /usr partition to upgrade Kubuntu using KPackageKit. And I can't really see a way to free the necessary 170 MB.
However, I do have a 16GB SD card which I have successfully used to install 10.10 Beta on another computer. Is it possible to use a LiveUSB installer to upgrade a distribution? You know, to install it while preserving all of current configuration information?
I haven't even begun to try actually doing this (except to back up /home just in case), so if doing this is something obvious that I just should have tried, let me know. If I'm better off just installing from scratch, you can tell me that too. Otherwise, point me to some materials that discuss how this is done, as my searches haven't turned up anything obvious yet.
