Virtual Keyboard and Holding the Ctrl Key to Zoom in Firefox

I have installed kvkbd and the gtk onscreen keyboard, but they don't hold the Ctrl key when I use the mouse in firefox. I need this functionality so I can zoom with the scroll wheel without actually having to physically hold down the control key.

Is there a way to make sure it holds the control key while I use the wheel, so that it zooms with the wheel in firefox?

not really an answer to your question, but you could just use Ctrl + to zoom in.

I am trying to set it up so that I need to use only my wireless mouse, and the wheel works best for zooming as well...
