Unfortunately, it still does not work for me.
I have a HP TX1220us, and my lsusb output shows the same info as yours. When I touch my screen with the stylus, the cursor jumps up to the top left corner, and will not move. I cannot finish the calibration because I cannot touch the cross-hairs. This is the same behavior I have with a fresh install of 10.10.
Any ideas? Any configs or output you would need to see?
    Thank you

Actually after a little more poking around, I found this:

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...ux/+bug/625511

Basically, there are some extra entries in the kernel that confuse
the touchscreen and have been fixed in the 2.6.37rc1 kernel.
I updated my kernel to 2.6.37rc2 and voila! touch screen works,
but not very accurate. So after performing your steps again,
I just have to work on tweaking the calibration. Its great in the center,
but off by about half an inch at the edges.
    Overall, YAY!
    Thanks again

    Thanks for your information.

However, mine (Gigabyte TouchNote T1028X) is working fine with my settings.

    Calibrated!
Had to paste the results from xinput_calibrator into /etc/X11/xorg.conf also.

Know how to activate right-click with stylus?

Thanks again for the great tutorial!

Pointed the stylus to the target and right-click the mouse pad at the same time.

Re: HOWTO : eGalax Touchscreen on Ubuntu 10.10

This almost works for me with my Lilliput EBY-701 touchscreen.
    BUT...
I've followed exactly the wiki instructions and the device is identified. The pointer moves when I touch the screen, however not where I'm pointing. Its seems totally miscalibrated and can't see any improvement when using the output from xinput_calibrator (don't even know if the points it's telling me are correct).

Here is lsusb for the device:
    Code:
Bus 002 Device 011: ID 0eef:0001 D-WAV Scientific Co., Ltd eGalax TouchScreen
Here is /var/log/Xorg.0.log when I connect the device:

    Code:
[ 921.769] (II) config/udev: Adding input device eGalax Inc. Touch (/dev/input/mouse1)
[ 921.769] (II) No input driver/identifier specified (ignoring)

    Any help please?

    PS.
I've also tried the official eGalax drivers from: http://home.eeti.com.tw/web20/eGalax...inuxDriver.htm
to no avail (used to work until Xorg 1.8, for 1.9 they don't have the module compiled )

Re: HOWTO : eGalax Touchscreen on Ubuntu 10.10

Got it calibrated using /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ instead of /usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d/!!

Now on to find a way for right click!
