    9.04 boot stuck on "Starting Bluetooth"

    Hello,

    I'm having a bit of trouble with my 9.04 install. I'm running it off of an external HDD, and it's worked fine for about a month now. A few minutes ago, however, I looked up a help topic, and opened the main GNOME menu at the same time. The whole computer froze, and when I rebooted, it would keep getting stuck on the "Starting bluetooth" message, then freeze. There is no bluetooth device on this machine, though. Would it be possible to stop bluetooth from starting via the recovery terminal?

    Thanks in advance.

    EDIT: Now, when I boot, it forces a disk check and gets stuck at 70.1% every time it checks.

    Hi

    This might help

    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...ight=bluetooth

    You will need to edit config files from the recovery console.

    If the recovery console does not work use a live CD.

    Kind regards

    Thanks for the reply, but it did not work. it still has the exact same problem. Any other suggestions?

    Edit: I also tried using nano to edit /etc/default/bluetooth and change "BLUETOOTH_ENABLED=1" to "BLUETOOTH_ENABLED=0". It didn't work either.

    Hi

    Also i would suggest looking at the system log files. They might give an indication of what is wrong.

    Kind regards

    Re: 9.04 boot stuck on "Starting Bluetooth"

    Hi

    From https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BluetoothSetup

    To connect automatically, edit the configuration file:
    sudo cp /etc/default/bluetooth /etc/default/bluetooth_backup
    sudo nano /etc/default/bluetoothLocate line:
    HIDD_ENABLED=1Change it to:
    HIDD_ENABLED=0

    Try that as well.

    Kind regards

    Now it gets stuck on a forced filesystem check at exactly 70.1% every time, so I can't even open the recovery console.

    Hi

    Boot from a live CD and check the file system from there. I am beginning to wonder if its not a hardware problem

    Kind regards

    Booted off of the LiveCD, still got stuck on 70%.
