    Any updates to this? no idea how to rebuild kernels etc etc so im hoping theres an easy solution, i just want my dazzle dvc100 audio to work in vlc so i can capture. Both the audio and video work fine when using tvtime but i cant for the life of me get the audio to work in vlc. Help!?

    Obviously, everybody with Ubuntu-like Distros may be having audio issues, since all the audio block devices are missing. Below are instructions to build them: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=73871 I don't Know if it'll work yet-I haven't rebooted. If it won't, I will try to use calraith's solution. Broken Audio apps on "Ubuntu Studio" doesn't make sense, does it?

    The VLC idea sounds good, too.
