Touchpad stopped working

Hey guys,

When I installed Lucid my touchpad worked automatically, even scrolling on the right side automatically during install.

I have been booting my computer with a USB logitech mouse attached and now when I boot with or without the mouse attached my touchpad doesn't work. I don't think it has to do with the mouse at all since it doesn't matter if it is attached or not.

Any ideas on restarting a process I accidentally killed? It is a Synaptics brand touchpad. (See sig)

Otherwise, BUMP, because it is fast and furious in the Beginner Talk forum!

(And I would really like to be able to use my notebook without dragging a mouse everywhere!)

I marked this as "solved." My touchpad is working again but I have no idea why. I am assuming it is a hardware issue, as sometimes when I am using the computer my clicking locks up when using a USB mouse. I have to click with the touchpad to unlock the click-ability of the mouse pointer to keep using the mouse.
