HiCode:Solved Added 18.10: This is solved. At Front Node, edit file /etc/rc.local by adding one lineCode:/sbin/iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s 192.168.1.0/24 -o eth1 -j MASQUERADE
I have installed the UEC (Ubuntu Server Version 10.10) for our cluster, the front node seems to work fine. The nodes behind the switcher can ping between nodes but can not ping the ip outside the local network.
After a default installation of UEC, the cloud seems to be alright. But I will need the internet access from the nodes to update my base system.
I have set as follow
Front node: eth0 192.168.1.1, (with eth1 pointing to the public network)
compute node 1: eth0 192.168.1.2
Anyone have an idea to solve this problem? Thanks!Code:# The loopback network interface auto lo iface lo inet loopback # The primary network interface auto eth0 iface eth0 inet manual auto br0 iface br0 inet static address 192.168.1.2 netmask 255.255.255.0 network 192.168.1.0 broadcast 192.168.1.255 gateway 192.168.1.1 # dns-* options are implemented by the resolvconf package, if installed dns-nameservers 129.78.142.176 dns-search pgcluster.civil.usyd.edu.au bridge_ports eth0 bridge_fd 9 bridge_hello 2 bridge_maxage 12 bridge_stp off
