    Laptop not working well with 10.10 on battery

    Ever since 10.10 64 bit it seems my asus k50id locks up whenever i try to boot using my battery, or whenever i unplug my power and switch to battery it freezes. This never happened in 10.04, is there any possible way i can solve this or is it just a bug for now? oddly enough, i can login with safemode but it usually locks up after 1-5 minutes. this is a major problem because i use my laptop for writing notes in school and now this renders my laptop completely useless. please help this is urgent. thanks!

    Did you choose any extra option before you started the installation, like
    Code:
    acpi=off
    ?

    I have BIG problem with the battery too... check http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1595985... This look like a big problem... still no solution... except come back to 10.04

    I'm about to reinstall 10.10 just to see if i did anything after installing that caused it to mess up.. will post back with results

    EDIT: when i try the live CD the same thing happens, when the startup sound just loops over and over and it freezes.. so it wasn't something i did. it must be a bug, i'll try the 10.04 statup disk..
