    Hibernate Question

Is the "hibernate" option supposed to be the the equivalent of "sleep" in some other OS's?
When I choose it, my computer never shows the orange indicator under the power button, on the machine itself, the fans never slow or stop.

No because Hibernate will write whats on your ram to the swap space of your hard drive. and the sleep keeps your ram going and uses power.

Just found it all out from the kid behind me

    Re: Hibernate Question

Benefit of Hibernate is that it saves your entire session to your Harddrive (I guess to your swap space from his ^^^ info ) and you're not using any power.

Sleep saves your session to your ram but keeps the computer on just in a powersaving mode
