Is there a way I can switch from my installed "regular" Ubuntu to Lubuntu?
(BTW I don't see where I can change "Jaunty" to "Maverick" in my profile; it's been a while since my last visit )

The easiest way to do this would just be a clean install of Lubuntu.
If you wanna modify you Ubuntu you're to be like Lubuntu you're gonna have to install the lxde environment and use that instead of gnome which is gonna cause a lot of problems for you seeing as how you probably are using applications dependent on the Gnome environment cuz it's Ubuntu.
It's really easy to do

Oh, and click Quick links at the top and then Edit your detials to change that.
There are a couple of things unclear.
-KDE/Openbox doesn't open anything (sticks to login window) (no big deal; won't use KDE)
-GNOME/Openbox opens the regular Ubuntu desktop where there is Openbox, but Openbox won't open
-Openbox session gives a black background only. Right click opens a menu, but "reconfigure" nor "restart" there do anything ("obconfig" and firefox do react)
So far it looks like LXDE has my preference, although Openbox would be better (if it worked).
How do I set it as my default?
I see "default" as well as "user defined session" in the options.
EDIT: I just realized I didn't just install "lubuntu-core" as suggested, but all Lubuntu-stuff available in Synaptic; maybe overshooting?
