    Constant screen flicker - ATI X1900 (R580)

    Hi all,

I have just upgraded to 10.10, and now my screen constantly flickers. I'm using the open drivers. I have tried installing fglrx, but it wouldn't work: when enabling effects in Compiz, it would look for suitable drivers and fail to find any, meaning it could not activate the effects. Likewise, trying to launch the ATI control center (can't remember the exact name), a message would pop up telling me the drivers were not installed.

Can anyone provide a solution? As it is, the computer is barely usable. The only solution to preserve my mental sanity is SSH ^^

    Thanks!

Please, anyone? I cannot use my computer as it is...

Very disappointed by an Ubuntu release, twice in a row now...
