In the grub menu, do you have in your list a older kernel to try to boot with? If so try that.

Since you said you installed with Windows, is this a "wubi" install? Do you first get the Windows/Ubuntu menu, then you select Ubuntu, and then you see your Ubuntu choices?

Did you try to upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10?

Can you give us the specific error message when you try to boot into Ubuntu?

Can you still boot into Windows?

Do you have an Ubuntu LiveCD disk?

If you haven't spent much time customizing Ubuntu, the quickest solution is to reinstall wubi. Troubleshooting wubi problems often takes much more time than just reinstalling it. Of course, if you have data in the wubi file you don't want to reinstall until that data is recovered.
