Re: Breathing Linux on HP Omni Book 4150

Had to go back few pages to find this. I'm sure I have tried more at that time. Anything with GRUB Legacy did NOT work whatsoever and I still don't know why? the only system that worked on that laptop was Linux Mint LXDE 9.
I thought I could try to install Lubuntu but taking the hard drive out yet again while the laptop is broken is not good idea ... I'm afraid I'll break it. The Physical Damage from the outside is bad and I like that old machine and not ready to let it go I spent the best month in my life with it and I have learned a lot from it so I want to keep it the way it is

Puppy was not helpful at all for my case.

    Talking ~ . ~ Breathing *Lubuntu* on HP Omni Book 4150 ~ . ~

I can't sit still, I must do something and I guess I did it again

I'm not going to write much, pictures will do the talk on my behalf

I did get rid of Linux Mint 9 and replace it with Lubuntu 11.10 and OH YES, the machine is more responsive now and ... OH YES, it is Kernel 3.0.0.17

Awesome to hear! Your machine looks like it's had better days. Should cover it with duck tape to hold it together and give it that "shiny" Apple look!

Lubuntu, saving your old computers from the trash since 2009.

Actually at that time when I got that laptop from someone and tried to play with Linux on it, Lubuntu 10.04 at that time didn't work for some reason. Funny that 11.10 did
So, Lubuntu on that laptop is just recently installed

After all, it's not for daily use because it's VERY old.

The early releases where kinda buggy but Lubuntu has come leaps and bounds. And major improvement when it finally got parenting from the big guns and Canonical. Color me dazzled! XD
    LXDE. Fast and beautiful.
