1. ## percent question

Finishing up a keyword report for an industrial website.

So the question is what % of 480 is 22?

2. ## Re: percent question

100 * (22/480)

3. ## Re: percent question

Shouldn't you calculate the percentage on the total number of searches (22/(22+480)) and (480/(22+480))

4. ## Re: percent question

Nope...just 22/480=.04 or as poster #2 said, 100*22/480 = 4%

If you wanted to know what percentage the 22 searches is of the total searches, then you'd do 22/(22+480)

5. ## Re: percent question

4.6 percent - just what I was looking for. Thanks for taking the time.

"what % of 480 is 22"

What: w
%: /100
of: *
480: 480
is: =
22: 22

w/100*480=22

Apply basic algebra:

w*4.8=22

w=22/4.8

w=4.58(3)

(the (3) means an 3 repeats infinitely.)
