Could not download all repository indexes

Whenever I run the Update Manager I get an error message that says that it "Could not download all repository indexes"

When I run sudo apt-get update I get the following error:

W: Failed to fetch http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/di...ty/Release.gpg Something wicked happened resolving 'security.ubuntu.com:http' (-5 - No address associated with hostname)

W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/tualatrix/p...id/Release.gpg Something wicked happened resolving 'ppa.launchpad.net:http' (-5 - No address associated with hostname)

E: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

My sources.list.save file has the following:

switch to the main server in software sources, close and re-try

    Code:
    sudo apt-get update

Now I only have this error:

W: Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dis...id/Release.gpg Something wicked happened resolving 'archive.ubuntu.com:http' (-5 - No address associated with hostname)

E: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

Must be really busy. It shows the pgp sig when I click on the link.

    Code:
    -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE-----
    Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux)

    iD8DBQBL2cDzQJdur0N9BbURAmk2AJ9ungOjKn0ektAH87KhRIHht+1cDQCfck7P

    =b/mY
    -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
    Just try later.

Re: Could not download all repository indexes

I'm not sure but the only think I can think of is updating the mirrors. Go to System>Administration>Software Sources

Make sure all of them are checked, because if you downloaded a restricted package, then unchecked one of the software sources, and tried to update it, it'd give you nothing but errors.
It felt like judgment, but it was only rain.

jfed: Did you even read the post?

The above error is refreshing the main repo

Re: Could not download all repository indexes

I now get the following errors after having upgraded 10.10. I am connected to the main server.

W: Failed to fetch http://archive.canonical.com/dists/maverick/Release.gpg Something wicked happened resolving 'archive.canonical.com:http' (-5 - No address associated with hostname)

W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/tualatrix/p...ck/Release.gpg Something wicked happened resolving 'ppa.launchpad.net:http' (-5 - No address associated with hostname)

When connected to the US sever I get this error:
W: Failed to fetch http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/...ck/Release.gpg Something wicked happened resolving 'us.archive.ubuntu.com:http' (-5 - No address associated with hostname)

W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/tualatrix/p...ck/Release.gpg Something wicked happened resolving 'ppa.launchpad.net:http' (-5 - No address associated with hostname)

Is this typical for everyone? What causes it? Does it have anything to do with having Ubuntu Tweak installed?
