    Best application to watch DVDs

    In your opinion what is the best application to watch movies.The application also Needs to be quite lightweight.So what is the best application?

    Personally I use VLC. You'll need to install some other stuff too.

    VLC is great for DVDs. VLC doesn't have good playlist handling (which isn't needed for films) but it's very rich in settings and still it "just works".

    I use SMPlayer, an excellent GUI front-end to mplayer, which seems to have very little exposure here in comparison to the number of endorsements for VLC that I've seen.

    SMPlayer also has a Windows build if you're interested.
