How to install quicktime player on ubuntu..?

i had currently downloaded Quick-time,but i don't know how to install it...can some explain me how to do this step-by-step...

try open the files you would like to play with totem movie player.
You can also try VLC...

What file are you trying to play?

well i knew about these players but i have to play formats like (DivX MPEG-4 Version 5. MPEG-1 layer3)



i need to know how to install quicktime player...

Totem & VLC will play these - Totem is the only one I use (some times VLC if I get slightly corrupt file)

totem is installed by default - it's called 'Movie Player'

I have never installed Quick Time as there are 'cleaner' open source alternatives
