Wow. I just heard in an old interview that Lou Reed worked on an unpublished mystery novel. I wonder if it still exists...

...that would be cool to publish, finished or not. Very interesting things happen to unfinished mystery novels after they get published.

The Mystery of Edwin Drood -- Dickens.

No idea who Lou Reed is, did a search and still nothing (memory wise). Maybe it's regional thing (Edgar Allan Poe who's name I've heard of because of american tv shows, but doubt I've seen a book in real life by him...) As an aussie, I'm probably seen more UK authors than US based ones (unless tech manuals)

(I'm probably not 'well read' though -- I prefer reading tech manuals, or history... non-fiction more than fiction!)

Lou Reed New York City rock'n'roller singer songwriter, poet, junkie, ex-junkie, godfather of downtown... soul? Downtown-soul-jazz-rock. Something like that. Uh. Died too young and much too old aprox. 2 years ago I think. Boomer who co-created punk, along with the whole community in the early to late 70's village in NYC.

Nope, no help. 70's village in NYC made me think of Jesus Christ Superstar, my Dad was working in NYC (~1971-72) when that show was 'new' [broadway], he loved it & bought a record (LP) of the 'songs' back home & I loved it too. Still a favorite (though I've only got cassette copies of it; never found that cast on CD)

Oh. I'm sure you've heard the music, just never put a name to the tunes... Walk on the Wild Side, uh... Perfect Day. um. maybe Sweet Jane. You'd recognize those songs if you heard them, most likely.

    Hmm, dawn soon...

Yes I do recognize the names of songs you mention, though cannot put tunes to the names. Yes I'm sure I'd recognize them if heard..

I do recall 'philosophical quandaries' (jc superstar) though it was probably a decade or more later when i thought a little more about it. I went to church at that time because it was 'the right thing to do', 'faith' wasn't yet my own...

(I've yet to reach the point in life when I want to watch horror movies; doubt I ever will though; listening to their sound tracks no thanks.... wtf - 0030 & bangs outside; fireworks now?????)
