Script to remove Kubuntu or Xubuntu in full

I've just tried it on Kubuntu and I let the script run through completely. It did uninstall Gnome, but then reinstalled it.

My only problem is that when my system starts it still shows the initial Kubuntu screen. Is there any way to fix this?

the xubuntu remover seemd to have worked for me... i just had to enter allot to remove all the stufff... just for security i installed ubuntu-desktop agian to see if i have everything... yup! done hopefully works when i reboot... dont have plans doing that soon

Xubuntu removal worked great although I would have liked it if it had automated the 101 confirmation dialogs.

Nevertheless great. I wanted to use Xubuntu but it had a bunch of problems, likely stemming from me apt-getting it into Kubuntu, which I apt-got into Ubuntu, both of which I had already played around with quite a bit. I would still like to switch to Xubuntu so I will probably try your Kubuntu script when Feisty is complete and try installing Xubuntu without Kubuntu.

Here lads im confused, If i download those links onto my laptop with Windows XP will that effect it?
Can I download it on the laptop and put them on my memo.stick and transffer them to the other computer with Kubuntu V 6.06 LTS?
Please reply in easy language im onl 13.

why not just do

sudo apt-get remove kubuntu-desktop kubuntu-artwork-usplash

or

sudo apt-get remove xubuntu-desktop xubuntu-artwork-usplash

and then

sudo apt-get autoremove

Have you actually tried that, or did you just think it might work in theory?

Also, the autoremove feature for apt-get is available only in Edgy Eft.

why not simply "sudo aptitude install kubuntu-desktop" - "sudo aptitude remove kubuntu-desktop" ?...and xubuntu just the same...
