I am trying to install Ubuntu on my home-built PC, but i cannot install because Ubuntu does not see my Samsung SP2504C harddrive during install. I have tried Ubuntu Server, Ubuntu Desktop Alternate and Live CD install.

This is what happens:
1. The harddrive is visible in Gparted
2. The harddrive is visible in fdisk, fdisk -l gives this output (i have deleted all partitions on the harddrive).

3. The graphical installation program does not recognize the harddrive and the alternate install does not recognize the harddrive.

I have used Ubuntu on this computer for a long time, but moved the other harddrives to another machine and want to install Ubuntu onto the 250gb harddrive. I have two Samsung S2504C, and its the same problem whith both drives on this machine and on another machine which is brand new. Is there any solution to this? The MB is an ASUS P5GD1, and i have tried both AHCI mode and IDE mode in bios. Other harddrives work, but not the SP2504C.
