    Ubuntu Server stops rebooting properly

    hey,
im running ubuntu server 10.04, i just installed on an old pc. i was configuring things and i reboot it twice. after the second time ubuntu wont start, it shows the bios screen and then continues like its a normal boot, but after there is a white cursor that just blinks and then the screen shuts off because of no signal. its not the video card because its also unreachable via the network. it had a static ip. i need some help cuz this has happened every twice now and i have had to reinstall ubuntu to get it to work again.

    please help!

    thanks,

    echelon-iv
