Unhappy No display signal when turning monitor off and on again

If I turn off the monitors, I get a black screen (the monitors goes to power save) when I turn them on again.

I have a workaround which involves pressing ctrl-alt and f3 and then ctrl-alt f7. That usually works and brings up the graphical login-screen. And I get my session back.

But sometimes when I log in, my session is gone. It is as if I was logged out or the system has rebooted.

I have two monitors and Nvidia.

It might be the screen saver coming up in case you leave the system idle. Then it asks for password to unlock the screen. Look in System >>> Preferences >>> Screen Saver. Adjust it accordingly in case it is the one causing problems. Otherwise, post back.

    Hi!

    Thanks for the reply

I want the login to appear, for security reasons. But I also want X to reappear when I turn my monitors back on, without having to press ctrl-alt-f3 ctrl-alt-f8.

And I don't want to lose my session.
