Sure there are a lot of good emulators for Ubuntu Linux. Emulation is about the only gaming I do really. Below are a little list to help you out in your search.
Nintendo64 - Mupen64plus - Install from software center - Works really well with really good compatibility.
Dreamcast - lxdream - http://www.lxdream.org - Works so so, not as good as NullDC under Windows. Getting better though. Needs DC BIOS to work.
Playstation 2 - PCSX2 - http://pcsx2.net/ - Only works under 32bit linux. Works really well and great compatibility. Needs PS2 BIOS to work. Real fast machine helps.
MSX & MSX2 - I'm not sure about really since I've never messed with it.
Admin of Alpha Box Media - Stop by for a visit.
Dell Studio XPS 9000
Core i7 2.66GHz - 8GB DDR3 Memory
5TB HD Storage - nVidia GTX 470 Graphics
Nintendo DS-- Desmune, download it from software center
Snes-- Zsnes, Software center as well
Gameboy advance-- Visualboy, Software Center again
thanks guyz
VBA-M is much better replacement for VBA.
I'm a big fan of pcsx-r for playstation emulation.
I still use epsxe for most things due to strange isues pcxs* has with my video card. No matter which video plugin I use I get really weird results.
Most people swear by pSX but I think they're delusional... considering 1.13 was released three years ago and there have been no updates since,
compounding that is the sound issues (pulse for example) and the fact that the dev won't release the source for his obviously defunct emu...
That's enough to keep my interest at 0%. For the foreseeable future I'll continue using epsxe until pcsx stops being weird on me or I get new hardware. ^_^
NES : FCEUX
SNES : bsnes
Genesis : Kega Fusion
N64 : Mupen64plus
Playstation : pcsx-r
Saturn : Yabause
I don't have enough CPU to run a PS2 emulator...
Or if you have a really slow pc, or just like the classics. You can try ScummVM from the Repository. I play lots of fun old games like Monkey Island or The Dig, (that one mortocycle game i forgot) mainly Lucasarts stuff, lots of old games you can download or maybe even buy from the thrift store! lol i got my Lucasarts set from there. that's mostly what i'v been playing lately. http://scummvm.org/
