problem with airodump

Hey,
Very weird problem i've been starting to have only recently. Been using the aircrack suite for more than a while not, and in the past three days every time i run airodump-ng the entire computer freezes and won't respond to anything but brute reset.
The weirdest thing is that it started happening at the same time on my laptop and desktop. Haven't replaced my wifi card or anything in either of then and tried with more than one wifi card and all are having the same problem...
Ideas?

Could be a kernel update? conflict
Are they both running the same card?

Tried looking at syslog.conf and see what happens before the freeze?

maybe remove aircrack suite and reinstall.
