    Unhappy Installing flash player

I have just installed ubuntu 10.04 on my sons PC. He went to watch a video on you tube and he needed flashplayer installed. I went to the download site and it was not as straight forward task as it is with windows. I had to decide which version to install and then which application to install it with. It is a lot of effort finding out how to do a simple download for a required programme and am busy doing my comptia A+ course work at the moment and was wondering if somebody would be kind enough to help me with instructions on how to download flash player to save my son waiting for me to read through manuals which I don't have the time for today and he is quite disappointed right now. regards, Rhys and Ryan

Hi and welcome to the forums

The easiest method is to open Applications > Ubuntu Software Center and search for "flash"

You have 2 options, either install just the Adobe Flashplayer or Ubuntu Restricted Extras which will also download and install codecs, fonts, and other things needed for normal computing usage.

The installation is done in the USC and is quite straightforward.

    Good luck!

Adobe's website has a .deb verison, which you can install it just as easily as you can in Windows

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling.
