Hey Guys I have been watching ubuntu for a while and have tried the newest version ot Ubuntu on an old XP desktop, but I can't decide on whether or not I should get it. On one had I like being different and I think Ubuntu will help me achieve that, but on the other had my whole family and friends use windows and I know if I get this I will be build myself a little room away from everyone else which is good except when I want to share files or they want to look at something on my laptop.
I am also woried about my current files on my computer because if I get Ubuntu I will lose all my files (which is mostly music and videos) and I really don't want to part with that. I also own a zune and I am aware that I may not be able to sync it with my computer if I download Ubuntu, but I have a family computer that I can sync with my zune if I cannot find a way to get it to work. One other thing I like to do is record video gameplay from my xbox to my computer, I have the dazzle DVD recorder (the white one), and have heard that hardware support for Ubuntu is not very good.
Well guys there is my problem I also know I don't have to do a full system switch but I really don't want to run two operating systems on one computer I have had some experience with that and I know that it can really slow down your computer.
I want to make the switch on my HP Pavillion DV6000
I also have a printer I share over my network to all my computers on this network through a dektop that runs vista, will there be any problems trying to print off it?
