"Wine Internet Explorer" blank screen.

I'm trying to install "SipGate". When I run the .exe file it starts the setup and then a blank Wine Internet Explorer window pops up. Does this mean I can't install it or do I need to install IE. Please help.

open terminal
type `wine --version`

does it print atleast wine-1.2? if no -> goto winehq.org download section for ubuntu

does: `wine iexplore http://winehq.org` work?
