MSI Wind U135: Webcam stopped working

Hi all.

I'm sorry if this appears to be a commonly asked question, but for what I can see, my issue is a little different to most. The posts I have seen relate to the camera not working from a fresh install... mine did.

I have an MSI Wind U135 netbook with an integrated webcam. The last time I used the camera was about a month ago and it was working without any trouble.

I went to use cheese to record a video today and it was unable to find my webcam.

I cannot see the it when I lsusb or lspci and the Fn key combination does not activate it either.

I am wondering if the driver broke during an update or something.

If anyone could offer a suggestion as to what I can do to fix this, I would me most grateful.

I ran into the same problem, my webcam worked great (as did audio) now it appears to not be detected anywhere, be it to record something on facebook, twitcam or cheese. It kind of lights up for a second and then it dies.


I ran a lsusb if somebody can figure something out for me please.
