    1) Version Of Ubuntu: 18.04 LTS LiveUSB
    2) Laptop Maker: Apple
    3) Laptop Model: Apple MacBook Pro (Mid 2009 MacBookPro5,4)
    4) Known Issue: One of three things happens when booting

Computer boots and hangs on a black screen

Computer tells me it can't find vmlinuz (vmlinuz.efi?)

Computer boots to a black screen with a cursor in the top right
    - Tells me I can choose between trying to open Ubuntu with out installing, install Ubuntu, or some other things
    - When I try Ubuntu, it hangs on the loading screen

    Please only list
    1) Version Of Ubuntu
    2) Laptop Maker
    3) Laptop Model
    4) Known Issue

*NOTE* This thread is exclusively for the listing of incompatible hardware. Any idle chatter or unrelated posts will be moved/removed accordingly. *NOTE*

    Thank you.
Thread text shamelessy lifted and edited from Frodon's Desktop threads.

    Edit - HardwareSupport/Machines/Netbooks wiki page
    1) 17.04 but most likely any
    2) MSI
    3) Apache Pro
    4) Can't install via usb with dualboot on windows. I think there are no enough rights to install Grub. it fails after the install is done and it tries to implement boot loader or something

    HP Pavillion 13 x360

    18.04
HP-Pavilion-13-x360 hp-pavilion-13-a200-x360-convertible-pc requires 2 parameters to be passed to kernel.

secure boot=off from BIOS so your wireless will load driver.

    Grub (Linux) parameters.

    acpi_osi=
    (yes, nothing after equal sign)
So it doesn't claim to be Windows messing up everything&freezing hard on boot (brick like if you are coming from Android)
pci=biosirq (not absolutely sure that is needed after acpi runs but does cause no harm)

After these settings, even a Live USB will boot fine, requiring only wired connection for updates&internet. You will need broadcom-wl-dkms for wireless.

    Bug reported see: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...x/+bug/1848017

I'm seeing posts on the internet where people have gotten that machine to work. I recommend starting a support thread for getting it working.

Start a new thread. This thread is for laptops that just don't work with ubuntu.

    1) Version Of Ubuntu: 18.04 LTS
    2) Laptop Maker: Lenovo
    3) Laptop Model: Ideapad 330
    4) Issue(s): I`ve been using Ubuntu for a few weeks, no too intensively though; so far I have problem only with the keyboard, but a very frustrating one, particularly if you type a lot of text:
The combination "Shift" + "Home" / "End" for selecting text doesn`t work in any text editor unless I press NumLock first. When asked to save a file, pressing "Shift" + "Home" / "End" behaves as if pressed only "Home"/"End": it only moves the cursor at the beginning/end of the text without selecting any text.

NOTE: I have used Ubuntu 14.04 briefly on a Fujitsu Siemens Notebook (Amilo series, I don`t remember the exact name of the model) and then I had the same problem, even worse: "Shift" + "Home" / "End" did not work at all. However, when I logged in as a Guest User, the keyboard functioned properly.
