Will the Ubuntu installation wipe my home/usr/opt folders?

Well since nobody was able to help me with this,
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1539891

I guess I'll have to reinstall now.

I'm wondering if my home folder will be deleted by the installation if I choose not to format the disk, as well as the /opt and /usr where i also have stuff.

Or more specifically, which are the folders it will delete?

    Thank you.

The partition you format will lose all data, including folders. If your home folder is on the partition you are going to format, back it up.
