    Ubuntu stuck on loading screen

Yesterday I changed my theme using this- http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-do-you...ucid-lynx.html, I did everything on that, and when I changed the theme, I logged out and back in, and it was working fine, and the theme had changed. When I turn my computer on and start Ubuntu, it gets stuck on the purple screen that says Ubuntu and won't load. I waited 10 minutes, but still nothing happened. How can I fix this?

Re: Ubuntu stuck on loading screen

hi, even I am experiencing the same problem. However, I found a way you can still log-in. This is not a solution however. I suppose the problem lies with mounting the hdd. Enter the grub menu. Choose a kernel in recovery mode. YOu'll get the recovery mode menu. Choose to 'resume normal boot'. You'll be defaulted to a login shell. Type in username & password. In the shell type startx. This will start the x gui system, and gnome. Hopefully this will help for the time being.
    --deostroll
PS: Using ubuntu os: Lucid Lynx v10.04
