    Slow Wireless

My wireless connection has always slow on my ubuntu desktop. I have always thought this was a matter of hardware, but after reformatting my harddrive because of recent problems, the wireless has slowed to point of ridiculousness. I would guess I had a dial-up connection if i didn't know better. I've tried simple things like rebooting and removing add-ons, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

    Re: Slow Wireless

you should make a test like this (need flash) on your ubuntu SO and another SO where you think you wireless is faster..

    then compare the results

    Re: Slow Wireless

I've recently discovered that my neighbors have been stealing Internet. I put a wpa2 encryption on my wifi and suddenly the Internet is fast. I guess my computer was the one that paid the price for wasted bandwidth because it is the one that had a mismatched wifi card (N++ adapter to N router I think).
