my ubuntu si showing me some weird things and i dont understand why it happens I am facing 2 problems...i'll elaborate on the issue

Problem 1:
in case you want to shift your firefox application from Workspace 1 to worskpace 2..... you right click it and select Move to another Workspace....then you select Desk 1 or Desk 2 or so on....but it no longer shows me that way....instead of showing me Desk 1, Desk 2....it shows me the options as Desk 1 (1), Desk 2 (2) and so on...... it happens with all applications and not just with firefox...


Problem 2:

I stored some files on my desktop which is no longer being shown...I'll show the screenshots:

Can anyone help me please
