Question [ubuntu] Are there any Xbox emulators for Ubuntu?

There are times I'd like to be able to play some of my Xbox console games on my PC. Are there any such emulators?

Not really. I think there's one xbox emu in existence and it's for windows.
If I recall it barely does anything and has been long abandoned.

I would think it would onlyt be for windows. Heres the thing, since the xbox was created by microsoft, it probablly uses Direct 3d rendering and not OpenGL. Xeon is the windows xbox emulator...

Xbox original used DX8 and a modded win2000 kernel. So emulation would be hard and probably illegal as hell. But possibly if someone worked really hard they could use Wine source code or ReactOS source code to fill in for the win2000 kernel and use it to convert DX calls to openGL, but thats ALOT of work.

From what I can tell none of these have been updated in years.
DirectX is a non-issue as more than likely any xbox emu would need to be run via wine with varying results.
The chance of a native xbox emu on linux in the next decade are slim to none.

I marked this thread as solved simply because it seems there no possible answer for it.

Kind of defeats the point of the solved tag if nothing is really solved..

    Check these sites out:

    Original Xbox: http://emulator-zone.com/doc.php/xbox/

I'm not sure how promising any of them are though.
