10.04 lucid FREEZE once i start compiz

my ubuntu 10.04 freeze completely once i start compiz or after a while when compiz is working even while installing ubuntu 10.04 , if compiz working ubuntu FREEZE AND INSTALL stop
my graphics card support 3d very well it had been working with compiz excellent with all previous versions of ubuntu

i've tried to disable all plugins through CCSM and the problem still exist , plz i need help about that serious problem

I can't say much more than that I've seen similar threads relating specifically to the Reflection Plugin.

.01 Is the system freezing completely or does the mouse pointer still work?

.02 Can you get into Console mode after the freeze? Ctrl+Alt+F1 / Ctrl+Alt+F8 to get out.

1- mouse and keyboard freeze
2- no i cannot

Is there an older kernel to boot into in the GRUB screen? If so, try that one and see if the behavior persists.

i didn't have such problem at all with any verios of ubuntu or mint on the same pc
i've been using 6 versions of ubuntu before 10.04 and mint 5,6,7,8
btw mint 9 has similar problem as well

and i'm going to try live cd now with older version of kernel

i've tried live cd with older kernel and SURPRISINGLY the problem exists ..!!!!

can u adivse me about the possibilites causing the problem ?

It seems to me that either your video card is failing, or the driver for it doesn't get along with Lucid.

I'd recommend trying a different driver. You have Intel graphics and I have no idea how to go about doing that for Intel. There drivers are treated differently than the nVidia or ATi drivers.

Your other option, if you aren't on a laptop, is to get a new video card. nVidia has the best support for Linux.

There may be other options and ways to go about fixing this that I don't know about. I just don't know that much about Intel graphics cards. Frankly that's because of issues just like this.

and it worked PERFECT AND EXTREMELY FAST
