External Monitor Shaky and Blurry?? Please Help

I have a CRT 16'' compaq External monitor im using on my Toshiba Satellite 305D Laptop that has an ATI radeon x1250 graphics card. The monitor works fine in windows but is very blurry /shaky like in Ubuntu 10.04. I'm a pretty big beginner when it comes to Linux so help would be great- Thanks in advance

Same issue, Dell Inspiron 6400 with x1400. LCD on laptop not affected. I don't think the problem occurred with 9.10. Maybe we should do some further testing and file a bug report?

Edit: We are talking vertical blur, like each line starts on a different offset?

I was having the same problem, the monitor has the right resolution, but is a little blurry and it hurts the eye after too much use.

I tried to install the fglrx driver, but it didn't worked. So I switched monitor with a friend of mine (he has a digital connection, and mine was analog), as both are from the same institute, and it worked with another monitor.

From a ViewSonic to a BenQ.
