Black Cursor at start / ubuntu not opening ??

I have Netbook edition Ubuntu on a Toshiba nb200 Netbook. It is great i am really getting used to it but havecouple of problems..

PROBLEM AT STARTUP
1- it never starts normally, sometimes after the black cursor and blank screen appears it wont start without tapping ctrl-alt-f1 for 50 times.
2- Sometimes it start 5-6 minutes after black cursor and blank screen appears..


Additionally.. My touchpad was working fine this mornig but now it isn working ?

please help me newbie here... thanks...

It honestly sounds like hardware problems.

Check the hard drive.
