Looks like all it does is try to load the HTTPS version of the page before defaulting to HTTP.
I don't know, but I'm going to download it and try it out.

Evidently NoScript does a lot of this (or at least can be made to).
I do not think that extension adds much to security (it does add some). It may be helpful to reduce Phishing and in increases privacy as communication is encrypted.
Most malicious sites do not use https , but if they did there is nothing protective about https, you would be as vulnerable to a code injection or xss across a https connection as a http connection.
https would validate the site, reduce or eliminate "man in the middle" attacks, and increase privacy.
