    Sandisk Sansa Clip Rhythmbox Issue

    (I'm using 10.04)
I just got a Sansa clip and I've been trying to add music to it through rhythmbox, but I've been running into some serious issues.

It worked great until I attempted to add too many albums. I already had a few albums on it that were working fine, but only had it at half capacity, so I selected several more albums to add and misjudged it. When it ran out of space I got two different messages:

    Error Transfer
Unable to send file to MTP device: LIBMTP_Send_Track_From_File_Descriptor(): I don't think this is actually a track, strange filetype...
    and:
    Error Transfer
Unable to send file to MTP device: get_writeable_storageid(): all device storage is full or corrupt.

After this all the music I had just put on the player could not be found or played although the player still read as full. The only music that was left was the stuff I had put on earlier. I erased all the working music files off of it so the player read as empty in the rhythmbox screen, but could not erase the music that had been imported in the 2nd batch although the player still read as full. When I attempted to add more music none of it appeared on my player, but the player still reads as full.
In summary, I can't listen or access any of the music on my player, but it still reads as full under properties.

Have you tried pressing reset button on the device?

It sounds like something went terribly wrong. I would try resetting it and updating the firmware: http://www.ehow.com/how_5132778_reset-sansa-clip.html

You can just drag files/folders into the Fuze. Change the mode on the Sanza from MTP to MSC. Much easier.

    Thanks for the fast replies,
I reset and formatted the player and that seemed to fix all the issues I was having with the player. Then I switched it to MSC and it's working perfectly now.
    Thanks for all the help

You all are amazing. I was freaking out that I had all this music and I couldn't get it onto my Sansa Clip.
