    Lucid: Checking Battery State?

My brother gave me a copy of Ubuntu 10, since my upgrade from 7.04 to 7.10 screwed up. Installed it easy. But strange problems occur. After a few minutes of starting the system, it enters a command prompt, regarding "Checking batter state" yet my computer runs on an adapter, no battery exists (except the built-in one on the motherboard), and I have to restart my computer. Any solution to this?

    Re: Lucid: Checking Battery State?

I learned this is common for users with 2 Nvidea cards and aged Intel chipsets. Mine is the latter. Can anyone provide any help on this issue for me? The IRC is of no help, nobody seems to reply here on this dilemma... I'm really not enjoying this computer's conflicts.
