    Samsung media player support?

    Hi all,

I've been looking on google for two days now, and still haven't found a definitive answer, not even on the samsung website.

I am planning on buying an mp3 player that is not an ipod, I was looking at some options at the local stores and found the Samsung R1 media player. Now, i have a samsung phone that i have to hook up through vm to get songs transferred to and from the phone, does anyone know if the media player is natively supported on ubuntu (song, photo and/or video transfer)?

Another thing that might help me, is if anyone could tell me the best media player (full touchscreen, no buttons) to use with ubuntu?

    Thanks for the help.

Make sure you can set the mode to MPT, that way you are insured of being able to connect.

To be honest, now that iPod Touch support is working, it would probably be your best bet - though I'm not sure if it can be activated with Ubuntu.

    There's a samsung P4 pr P3 that's excellent too.

Thanks a lot for the advice, i'll probably go with the ipod touch (even though i don't like apple) since the other two Tahakki recommended are not available in the local stores.

I'm marking this thread as solved, thanks for the help

I dislike apple also, but it's hard to deny that the iPod Touch is quite simply the best player on the market.

On the phone side of things it's much different.
