make firefox change domain when I type it

    Hi guys

there is a site that I visit so often that it's domain ends with (.org) and when I go there I write the name and press (ctrl+shift+enter) but sometimes I press (ctrl+enter) and it takes me to a site that I hate so is there a way to make firefox when I write (www.thesitename.com) take me to (www.thesitename.org).

    thanks in advance

Re: make firefox change domain wheb I type it

I asked a friend of mine about this and he told me that it should have something to do with the file:

    /etc/hosts

I tried a lot for example:
to put the IP of the site I want to go to then the domain of the site I hate but nothing worked.

so if any one has any idea it would be much appreciated

thanks a lot for the reply you are so helpful

I want to redirect because I always go there (to www.hacker.org) but I really hate when I go to hacker.com by mistake because it's an meaningless site.
